ARCHITECTURAL CONCEPT
The building is divided into five program components. These are arranged longitudinally along the virtual backbone: alternately turning towards the valley and the hill; dependently on the function of the program, set out the need to view or illumination. Each component is broken down to 2-3 smaller units. Floors facility does not exceed 3 floors. The building is thus closer to the scale of dwelling construction.
The backbone follows the topography of the terrain (contour lines). In this way the facility is naturally placed in the space. With the detail of the vertical plane and alternately turning the roof planes on each column, we achieve an approximation to the existing model of building on the town’s silhouette level.
The first set, by the access from the main road, is a kindergarten that has 3 sections. All sections are oriented to the south. Next set is the clinic, which includes general and dental practice. The clinic is oriented to the north. In the third part there are common areas of the home for the elderly: kitchen, restaurant, administration and service facilities. These are all oriented to the south, while the fourth and fifth part, the nursing home, is oriented to the east and south. Each room has its own balcony, which allows a more direct contact with the nature.
The location between two small hills forms a natural shelter. Its design concept forms privacy and openness to the views and light.
