BASIS
The investor bought a former industrial space of the Iskra factory. Two existing objects form the complex, with space for deliveries in the middle. The main goal was to show the change of production in the facility on the facade, which would present the result of the revitalization and would create a united business facility. Its typology would be brought to the centre of the town Ljubno ob Savinji.
DESIGN
The crucial task was to link the business building with the smaller production facility with a facade. The buildings differ in height and spatial orientation. The main principle was to connect points of the existing buildings with a facade, hence creating a new object that would intensify its dynamics with the emphasized perspective. The formed connection between the entrance to the business building and the service entrance for the vehicles creates an extra graphic element. The new facade encircles and at the same time designs the entrance plato, it lowers onto the pavement and together they create a new visual of the structure.
The connection of all these elements with lines provides a new face for the site, which finally achieves the image of a unified business building because of the dynamics in the perspective. It leads misleads our view, together with our perception of depth and height. The attachment of the new facade to the existing objects in connection with all of the entrances creates a crystalline structure, linked with threads.
The facility is located in the centre of the town, in the middle of a typical rural architecture. With its appearance it establishes a contrast with the existing architecture, but at the same time reflects this architecture and links itself, not only with the built environment, but with nature as well.
