BASIS
At the heart of a family's heritage stands a house embedded in a slope, defined by its untapped potential. The client's renovation desires focus on three key challenges: creating a new entrance with a thoughtfully designed foyer, improving the connection between the living space and the garden, and ensuring privacy, which is currently lacking.

DESIGN CONCEPT
We drew inspiration from the unique architecture – a roof form reminiscent of alpine landscapes and balcony elements that, due to exposure, remained underutilized. Focusing on connecting the space with nature and functional transformation, we developed the comprehensive concept of "The Cloak of Shelter."
The house is enveloped in a contemporary wooden facade that merges aesthetics with functionality. Facing south, the facade opens up, allowing ideal natural light to flood the interiors, while triangular patterns on the remaining facades add a dynamic touch and provide additional lighting. This "wooden veil" ensures privacy, directs views towards greenery, and creates a sense of secure shelter.
To improve the connection between the living space and nature, we elevated the garden by half a level and connected it to a spacious living terrace via staircases. This area is not only an extension of daily living but also includes covered parking for two cars and a sheltered pathway to the new entrance.
